Proud to be representing mens mental health at the Blue Reef Festival in Maidstone again this year.
Our project was relatively unknown back in 2022 when we first attended this event and lots of people were asking “So... what’s it all about then?”.
This year was a whole different story, with comments like “Look it's DadSpace, we follow you on Instagram", "We've seen you in the newspaper" and “We heard about you on the radio”!
This was fantastic to hear, as we have been working extra hard since last november, organising more events and getting the DadSpace name out there at every opportunity we can.
Friday was glorious, but the weather was a little wet on the Saturday. It did not put people off their vibe though and the festival atmosphere was electric all weekend. A few highlights of the weekends acts were Toploader, Reef, Funke and the Two Tone Baby and Thomas Abrahams who all impressed the crowds of families. Denver was even interviewed by “Made in Kent Radio” live at the festival.
Thank you to John and the team behind Blue Reef Festival for supporting us and having us at their fantastic event! You can book tickets for next year on their website now!
While DadSpace gives fathers space to talk and be heard, our biggest supporters over the weekend were the Mums! The feedback from them about our project was amazing. By improving communication and talking about our mental health, DadSpace demonstraits time and time again that it clearly benefits the whole family unit.
We look forward to welcoming all dads to our next event, on Saturday 19th of August, which will be attended by guest speaker, Charlie from www.peacefulpeas.co.uk who will be talking about ADHD. Full details of this and future events can be found on our event calendar.
