On Thursday 8th June 2023, Denver King delivered a session at the Charities Aid Foundation in Kings Hill.
This was a unique opportunity to share our success since 2021 and ambitious plans for the future to create a number of satellite groups expanding our offering of events. We have raised over £2,500 in the last year, largely due to word of mouth and fantastic support of friends and family. This money is already going to good use, providing engaging opportunities to fathers, promoting mindfulness, communication and exercise. Later this year we hope to welcome many families to our Summer Garden Party in Sevenoaks.
Below are a few words from Vee, fellow father and valued DadSpace volunteer. He also arranged this excellent networking event with his employer.
"I’ve worked at the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) for many years and the organisation is a renowned leader in the charity sector, it is sometimes known as ‘the charity for charities’. We run monthly charity insight sessions where colleagues can learn about various charities who are invited to our Kent or London offices to inform/promote their services whilst sharing their origin story.
I’ve been to quite a few DadSpace events and immediately thought that Dadspace would be a great CAF charity insight example of how Denver took his personal situation as a Dad and created an opportunity where other Dad’s can share their experiences, seek brotherly support and build up a close friendship group." This was an exceptional opportunity for DadSpace. There were many charity experts in the room who asked Denver lots of questions about the events, benefits and support offered to local fathers. CAF are already thinking about future sessions that align with their mental health and wellbeing programme.
