This August DadSpace Celebrated its third anniversary and hosted another summer garden party at Reuthe's Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks. The event was filled with joy, community spirit, and an exciting announcement about our future!
The afternoon was filled with activities for the whole family to enjoy from Reptiles and Alpacas to the woodland trail and face painting. Bluey and a Minion even made an appearance as Live music filled the air, setting a warm family mood. Children played and families mingled, a true community spirit.
Through ticket sales and the raffle, we raised over £400 at this event! This fantastic sum supports our mission to provide safe and supportive spaces for dads to connect, share, and grow together.
DadSpace Working In Partnership with your Local Council
This celebration also marked a significant achievement for DadSpace as we proudly announced our latest success: securing a grant from Kent County Council. We have been thrilled to feature on so many local news interviews and publications, the support from the local community has once again taken us by surprise. Read the articles at the links below:
Denver also featured on BBC Radio Kent, in a live interview joined by another member of the DadSpace community who has been an long standing advocate of our project since it gave him hope back in 2021.
"This is a game-changer for us. We had reached the limit of what we could achieve in our spare time." Denver King, Director
This funding allows Denver to focus on DadSpace as we expand our unique form of “Brotherly Support Between Fathers” across Kent. We have already started networking with the local community scouting venues to host four new locations over the remainder of the year. Faversham in Swale is our newest confirmed location, more details on that here.
“We are now recruiting new venues and most importantly, Volunteers with experience in Mental Health awareness and Mentoring to co-host sessions and ultimately deliver dozens more events. KCC has also offered training and access to their wider network of support services across the county. We cannot thank you enough for this opportunity to help so many more families” - Denver King, Director
This exciting development is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Crew (Denver, Michael, Pete, Rob and Vee) and the many members who attend our sessions who all support each other and help to grow awareness of mental health.
“Mental health is not a game or competition to be won or lost. It’s a state of being. Good Mental Health allows you to understand yourself and appreciate things. Then decide what to do, to achieve your personal goals and happiness.” Michael Bright, Co-Director
We are thrilled to be expanding our services and look forward to welcoming even more dads and their family's into our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the garden party and for making it such a memorable day. Here's to many more years of supporting each other and growing stronger together! Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming locations and events.
Thank you to Reuthe’s Lost Gardens and their staff for hosting us. Thank you to all our members and their family’s for coming along that day to support us.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to Kent County Council, together, we will be delivering “Brotherly Support Between Fathers” across Kent!
