Team DadSpace could not wait until 2024 to get back out on the pitch, and this cold December match against Sands United was still a thrilling event! The match took place on Friday 15th December at Tonbridge Angels FC witnessing a clash of skill and determination between the two teams.
Beyond the scoreboard, the match served a more humble purpose as it was in aid of Beau Grover who sadly passed away 2 years ago. Emphasising the power of sport in mental health, supporting meaningful causes and uniting communities.

The match was edge of the seat stuff and after an intense first half, saw the score levelled at 2-2. Both teams played exceptionally well ending 5-3 in favour of Sands at the final whistle.
The camaraderie among the players, the vibrant cheers from supporters and the shared commitment to both sport and these charitable causes made it a memorable occasion for everyone involved. Thank you to Sands and Beau Grovers parents for inviting us to take part in this memorial match and to everyone involved in setting up the event.
Looking ahead to 2024, Team DadSpace are brimming with enthusiasm and optimism. Our sights are set on potentially joining a charity league, and continuing our commitment to combine our passion for providing Brotherly Support Between Fathers with our love of football.
"DadSpace is incredibly proud to have been part of such an inspiring event and look forward to more exhilarating matches in the future." Denver King - Director DadSpace
We also had some pre match words from Stuart, you can read his inspirational verse below.
You've got to hold and give But do it at the right time You can be slow or fast But you must get to the line They'll always hit you and hurt you Defend and attack There's only one way to beat them Get 'round the back Catch me if you can 'Cause I'm the England man And what you're looking at Is the master plan We ain't no hooligans This ain't a football song Dad Space on my chest I know we can't go wrong
