DadSpace gathered at a new location, The Walnut Tree in Loose, Maidstone, for another insightful Walk and Talk session.
During our walk, we discussed the recent documentary "How to be a Man" hosted by Danny Dyer. It sparked lively discussions among the fathers present. Opinions were varied, but one thing was clear: mainstream media were highlighting topics surrounding masculinity and mens mental health.
One of the biggest takeaways from the documentary was the portrayal of masculinity in media, particularly on social platforms, which was a cause for concern among the group. We discussed how the lack of context and empathy in online discussions can lead to misunderstandings and misinterpretations, especially for impressionable young minds.
As fathers, we were struck by the responsibility to provide our children with the guidance and support needed to navigate the complexities of gender roles and relationships. It reinforced our commitment to creating open and inclusive spaces like DadSpace, where conversations about masculinity, mental health, and relationships can thrive.
Our Walk and Talk sessions continue to be a valuable opportunity for fathers to come together, share perspectives, and support one another on our journey through fatherhood. We look forward to many more enlightening discussions and meaningful connections in the weeks to come.
Join us for our next session as we continue to explore important topics and support one another on our path through fatherhood.
